The other day I was getting a glass of water from our water cooler when my step-mom's dog walks up and shamelessly starts drinking the water straight from the nozzle before it hits my glass. As grossed out as I was, I wondered how many times he'd helped himself that I wasn't aware of. Ten minutes later, my dad who had previously laughed at me, was going to the bathroom with the door open when he yelled at me "he's drinking it on the way out too!" Gross.

It's not that I don't like watching hockey; I just don't go out of my way to see a game. Generally, I know the Canucks are playing because I have to work and no one will come in, or my friends have tricked me into watching it. "Come over to Carly's for a potlock" they say, and then when I get there everyone's in front of the T.V. "Darn it, the game's on. They got me again!" I just happened to be at a bar last night when we scored the winning goal as I was trying to order a sandwich and everyone went crazy. So now we're on our way to the Stanley Cup for the first time in a long time and people who never watch a regular season game are calling themselves hockey fans. Don't get me wrong, I love the enthusiasm, all of sudden people who would never have a conversation share common ground. Everyone knows where we stand in the series, and if you're bored in the grocery line up, bring it up with anyone in ear shot. Despite my objectivity to the whole thing, for a mere $10 I can look like a dork with a flag on my car too.
